LAUREL RIVER TRAIL

The 3.6-mile Laurel River Trail in Pisgah National Forest (trail #310) near Hot Springs is definitely one of the flattest hikes in our mountains – with plenty of mountain scenery along the way. It is a delight for those of us that love the sound of river rapids and lush mountain woodlands. Find many spots to access the Big Laurel Creek and even take a dip. HOT SPRINGS SPA

ZIPLINING

Can you think of a better way to experience the beauty of the surroundings and the thrill of shooting through the tree tops in this natural setting? This zipline course has ten lines ranging in length from 75 to 1000 feet long with rappels and short hikes offering great views of the beautiful 26 acres of land.

Here’s how it works. This approximately two and a half – three hours trip begins with an explanation of techniques and safety before embarking on a treetop canopy adventure. Outfitted in state-of-the-art gear, ride up the mountain (which is scenic in itself) to the beginning. Clipped in, zip down on ten separate lines totaling over one mile – each ranging from 75 to 1000 feet. Included also are some opportunities to rappel from platforms. An experience of a lifetime!
